K-Culture House 의 전신인 세계 걷기의 날 조직위원회와 전국 지방자치단체 및 지방 의회가 중심이 되어 매년 11월 11일을 『세계 걷기의날 』로 제정하여 매년 전 세계 주요도시에서 지구촌의 현안문제인 기아퇴치,인권보호, 세계평화, 지구온난화, 인류건강 등의 테마를 이슈화하고 관심을 집중시킬 수 있도록 UN본부를 방문하여 반기문 사무총장에게 세계적인 걷기행사를 제안했다.
The World Walking Day Organizing Committee, the predecessor of K-Culture House, worked in collaboration with local governments and local councils across South Korea to designate November 11 as “World Walking Day.” To raise global awareness and draw attention to pressing international issues—including hunger eradication, human rights protection, world peace, global warming, and public health—the committee proposed holding annual walking events in major cities around the world. As part of this initiative, representatives visited the United Nations Headquarters and presented the proposal for a worldwide walking event to then-UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
History of K-Culture House 1999년 K-Culture House의 전신인 땅끝정신운동본부 설립 Established the Ttangkkeut Spirit Movement Headquarters, the predecessor of K-Culture House. 1999년–2000년 희망의 땅끝정신운동 개최 Organized the Ttangkkeut Spirit Movement of Hope. 2000년 땅끝–보길도 답사기행 개최 Organized an exploratory cultural journey from Ttangkkeut to Bogildo Island. 2001년 남도 문학기차여행 개최 Organized the Namdo Literary Train Journey. 2001년 함평 나비축제 개최 Organized the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival. 2007년 (사)세계걷기본부로 명칭 변경 Renamed the organization as the World Walking Organization. 2007년 아프리카 어린이 돕기 걷기축제 개최 Organized a Walking Festival to Support Children in Africa. 2007년 제1회 세계 걷기의 날 선포 Proclaimed the 1st World Walking Day. 2008년 88 서울올림픽 20주년 기념행사 개최 2008 Held a commemorative event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. 2008년 UN 반기문 사무총장 예방 2008 Paid a courtesy visit to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. 2009년 완도-청산도 제1회 세계슬로우걷기축제 개최 Organized the 1st World Slow Walking Festival on Cheongsando Island in Wando. 2009년 제1회 관동별곡 8백리 걷기대회 개최 2009 Held the 1st Gwandong Byeolgok 800-ri Walking Festival. 2010년 대한민국 정부 법정기념일 「보행자의 날」 제정 2010 “Pedestrian Day” was officially designated as a national commemorative day by the Government of the Republic of Korea. 2011년 대한민국 정부 법정기념일 「보행자의 날」 행사 개최 2011 Held an official event commemorating Korea’s national “Pedestrian Day.” 2013년 제천시 제2회 세계슬로우걷기축제 개최 Organized the 2nd World Slow Walking Festival in Jecheon. 2013년『송강 정철과 함께 걷는 관동별곡 8백리』 출간 Published “Walking the 800-ri Gwandongbyeolgok Route with Songgang Jeong Cheol.” 2015년 순천만 테마 노래 6곡을 순천시에 헌정하는 프로젝트 「더 브릿지」 진행 2015 Launched “The Bridge,” a project presenting six Suncheon Bay-themed songs to the City of Suncheon. 2015년 제6회 관동별곡 8백리 걷기대회 개최 2015 Held the 6th Gwandong Byeolgok 800-ri Walking Festival. 2015년 한·중·일 우정의 노래 음반 발표 2015 Released an album of friendship songs connecting Korea, China, and Japan. 2016년 세계바퀴의날 행사 개최 2016 Held the World Wheel Day event. 2017년 세계바퀴포럼 개최 2017 Hosted the World Wheel Forum.
2017년 오사카 학가요제 개최2017 Korea–Japan Music Festival: “Hak (Crane)” was held in Osaka, Japan. 2022년 일본 Minoh City 시장 예방 2022 Paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Minoh City, Japan.
